Invisalign And Clear Aligners

Crooked Smile? Crowded Teeth? Bad Bite? Discover the Wonders of Invisalign Treatment

Hiding your smile is not a solution for crooked, misaligned teeth, as orthodontics can fix these problems. If the thought of metal braces has you thinking twice about orthodontic care, consider Invisalign treatment. With Invisalign, you get the best of both worlds – a beautiful smile using a comfortable, discreet orthodontic procedure. You can learn more about Invisalign at Health 360 Dental in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

What to Expect from Invisalign Treatment

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment designed to correct problems with crooked, misaligned teeth. It uses plastic aligner trays instead of metal brackets and wires to realign your teeth. A dental exam from your Chevy Chase dentist, Dr. Erick Hosaka, will determine if you’d make a good candidate for this procedure.

Dr. Hosaka will take digital x-rays of your mouth, teeth, and gums, evaluate your oral health and review the problems you want to correct to see if Invisalign would work for you. If so, we’ll create a treatment plan to meet your smile goals. The process entails making digital scans of your teeth to create custom aligners that fit comfortably and snugly over your teeth. When worn, these aligners will gradually pressure your teeth to shift them to a straighter position.

Unlike metal braces attached to your teeth, Invisalign aligners can be removed for eating and brushing your teeth. This gives you short breaks in your treatment. However, they need to be replaced immediately afterward so as not to disrupt your treatment. The aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours daily for your treatment to succeed.

Problems Invisalign Aligners Correct

You can use Invisalign aligners to correct problems with:

  • Overcrowded teeth
  • Malocclusion (underbites, overbites, crossbites, open bites)
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Uneven or overlapping teeth

Depending on the problem(s) that needs fixing, your treatment may last between 6 months and 18 months. Dr. Hosaka will meet with you every few weeks to monitor your progress and upgrade your aligners to the next level.

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign is more convenient than braces as the aligners are more comfortable and discreet, can be removed for eating, and, in many instances, provide quicker results in straightening your teeth. As a teen or adult, you’ll find these aspects more appealing.

Although the ultimate goal is a beautiful smile, Invisalign treatments can improve the health and function of your teeth as well. Using aligners for crowded teeth realigns them into a better position for easier cleaning to avoid decay or gum disease problems. Invisalign for malocclusion improves your bite to prevent jaw strain, TMJ pain, and wear and tear on your teeth. Your teeth will look, feel, and function better upon completing your Invisalign treatment.

Give your smile the upgrade it deserves with Invisalign treatment. To learn more about Invisalign and how it can benefit you, contact Dr. Erick Hosaka in Chevy Chase, Maryland, at (301) 686-5255 at your earliest convenience.
