People with badly crooked teeth sometimes think Invisalign clear aligners won’t work for them. Sometimes that’s true, but not always. A dentist needs to examine your teeth before you can rule out this option.
Drs. Erick Hosaka and Valerie Cassis at Health 360 Dental can take a look at what you’re working with and go from there.
The great thing about Invisalign is that these clear aligners can be just as effective as braces but offer a completely different experience.
Invisalign has smooth edges because they’re made from thermoplastic. You’ll feel a little pressure every time you switch to a new tray. That’s just your aligners doing their job. But you’re not going to have any metal poking through your cheeks.
Invisalign is a great option for unevenly spaced or crowded teeth, and those that have mild crookedness. But even if your teeth are severely crooked, you may still be able to get Invisalign. You won’t really know until a dentist at our office evaluates you.
Invisalign doesn’t shift everything all at once. It moves gradually in small stages.
If someone is standing really close to you, they may see them, but across a desk or when you’re having a normal conversation with someone, it might not be visible.
You have to wear them at least 22 hours a day, every day. Only take them out to eat or to brush and floss. If you wear them less than your dentist recommends, it’ll slow tooth movement and take longer to complete.
